Discover Fall at Blue Mountain Resort

Just a couple hours outside of the concrete jungle we call home is Ontario’s version of a Scandinavian ski village, Blue Mountain Resort! And it’s so cute! Although the ski hill is a lot smaller than the mountains out West or in Quebec, one thing that can’t be beat is the village and activities you can do on the resort.

TIFF – The Producers Ball

Have you heard? TIFF is in town which means that Toronto turns into a bit of a circus for a week or so. Glamping with Elements Luxury Tented Camp

Canadian girls don’t shy away from loading up the car with a tent and heading to a provincial park for a weekend of camping. Sleeping under the stars, all snuggled up in a tent is very refreshing, but there is a ton of work involved, especially if you’re the ‘organizer’ in your friend group. We used to go camping once or twice every summer but for the past few years trips abroad have taken precedence over camping – honestly, an all inclusive down south is less work and stress than camping. Lately I’ve become enamoured by the idea of ‘glamping’ (glamourous camping…or camping for brats) – sleeping under the stars in a beautiful canvas tent, with all the comfort of home! You can glamp all over the world (surf + yoga retreat in Portugal anyone?) but really I just like the idea of staying in Ontario – we do have the best camping in the world!

Our endless summer has finally ended: a reflection

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about something a friend told me the other day. Every moment we are alive, we are dying. It’s another take on the famous cliché life is short, but much more powerful. Every moment that we are breathing and living, we are also, at the same time, getting closer to the end. Yikes! A bit heavy for a Wednesday afternoon read, but this gets more upbeat, I promise!

Perfect Fall Snack: Carrot Cream Cheese Squares

I like to think of Labour Day weekend as the true last hurrah of summer before we fall into the best season EVER – FALL! With the kiddo’s heading back to fall, vacations wrapping up, and everyone basically getting back into the swing of things, you may be looking for a new recipe or two to shake up your meal prep. Well, have I got a recipe for you! This is the perfect treat to bake up on Sunday and then keep in the fridge for your hectic mornings, boxing up for lunch al-desko, an after school (or work) snack, or late night treat. My Mom is doing the Sugar Free September challenge so these carrot cream cheese squares have ZERO white sugar. In fact, the sweetness comes from lots and lots of carrots plus a dash of maple syrup and I even snuck in some granola for extra goodness.
