Holiday High Tea at the Royal York

The Fairmont Hotels takes high tea very seriously. Having already experienced the full Fairmont high tea experience at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier (check it out here!), when the lovely ladies at the Fairmont Royal York asked us to their Holiday High Tea, we were there with jingle bells on our feet! We spent the day braving the Christmas crowds trying to get some shopping done and then headed over to the Royal York to rest our tired feet and enjoy a well deserved spot of festive tea.

Craft Beer Market

There’s a new restaurant in the core and with over 100 beers on tap, it’s MASSIVE. Craft Beer Market is another wave of the west coast invasion of Toronto. It’s located at Yonge and Adelaide – smack in the middle of the downtown core. Before opening its doors to the rest of the city, Craft Beer Market invited Jess and I (and our friend, A!) to their raucous opening party to sample what’s on tap. Bring on the brewskies!

Christmas Gift Guide

The Christmas count down is on! Officially 29 days and counting until the big day. Jess and I are making our lists and checking it twice. We’ve got a bunch of people to treat this year, from family to friends to secret Santas. I absolutely LOVE hunting for the perfect gifts for my loved ones – the payoff on Christmas morning is the best feeling ever. I’ve popped a few of my favourite finds below to help on your hunt this holiday (and maybe to add to your list to Santa this year)!

Restoration Hardware Cafe Brunch

I have a low key obsession with interior design. I greedily devour any design magazine that I can get my hands on and half my insta feed these days is all about tablescapes, shelfies, and hygge. Although most of my obsession is purely virtual (living in a condo doesn’t exactly lend itself to DIYs and renos), I love a good wander around interior design stores. And nothing beats Restoration Hardware when it comes to dream decorating my perfect house, nothing. You can bet that as soon as a little bird told me about the new MASSIVE Restoration Hardware that opened up in Yorkdale complete with a CAFE, I rounded up the squad!

Brunch at Gusto 101

Jess and I haven’t treated ourselves to brunch out in a long time. Rather than being a homebody for yet another weekend, after running a few errands (wedding related yay!) we decided to debrief and catch up over brunch and we knew exactly where to go – Gusto 101.

Tuscan Road Trip Part III – Buon Giorno Orvieto

For the last leg on our Tuscan road trip we woke up in Orvieto. Well, not exactly in Orvieto but a charming little hilltop town just on the outskirts of this special city. A crumbly town built into a cliff with meandering streets and houses covered in flowers.

Stranger Things Cake

I’m freaking out about a few things these days…one of them being the new season of Stranger Things (OMG!) and the is finding the perfect Halloween costume (stay tuned for a Trade and Charm Halloween costume retrospective)! Who doesn’t love Stranger Things? The kids are so adorable and the show is the perfect way to get things spooky-ba-ba-dooky this Halloween. My Stranger Things sheet cake is literally the easiest thing to pull together (I did it while getting my costume ready!) but it’s so impressive that people were taking pics of it all night!

Tuscan Road Trip Part 1 – Medieval Siena

Siena is often overlooked. Nestled between the two powerhouse Italian cities, Florence and Rome, unless Siena is specifically on your travel itinerary, it’s easy to whiz by on the A1 onto bigger cities. But with plenty to see and plenty more places to eat, our Tuscan road trip through the Val d’Orcia (think endless rolling hills of green, tall cyprus trees and fields of wheat) started off in medieval Siena. All you need is a car, a map and your best sense of adventure!
