Holiday High Tea at the Royal York

The Fairmont Hotels takes high tea very seriously. Having already experienced the full Fairmont high tea experience at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier (check it out here!), when the lovely ladies at the Fairmont Royal York asked us to their Holiday High Tea, we were there with jingle bells on our feet! We spent the day braving the Christmas crowds trying to get some shopping done and then headed over to the Royal York to rest our tired feet and enjoy a well deserved spot of festive tea.

Craft Beer Market

There’s a new restaurant in the core and with over 100 beers on tap, it’s MASSIVE. Craft Beer Market is another wave of the west coast invasion of Toronto. It’s located at Yonge and Adelaide – smack in the middle of the downtown core. Before opening its doors to the rest of the city, Craft Beer Market invited Jess and I (and our friend, A!) to their raucous opening party to sample what’s on tap. Bring on the brewskies!

Restoration Hardware Cafe Brunch

I have a low key obsession with interior design. I greedily devour any design magazine that I can get my hands on and half my insta feed these days is all about tablescapes, shelfies, and hygge. Although most of my obsession is purely virtual (living in a condo doesn’t exactly lend itself to DIYs and renos), I love a good wander around interior design stores. And nothing beats Restoration Hardware when it comes to dream decorating my perfect house, nothing. You can bet that as soon as a little bird told me about the new MASSIVE Restoration Hardware that opened up in Yorkdale complete with a CAFE, I rounded up the squad!

New Toronto Green Space: Trillium Park

I am always on the lookout for a new green space in Toronto to explore. When you live in a concrete jungle, any new park is a great asset in the city to cherish. Our main Toronto parks (think Trinity Bellswoods, Highpark) are overloaded in the summer, so its great to see Toronto investing in its Waterfront to encourage more city dwellers and tourists to explore further south. A bit late to the game, and hindsight is 20/20, but our waterfront is going to be the next “it” neighbourhood. Move over Ossy!

Brunch at Gusto 101

Jess and I haven’t treated ourselves to brunch out in a long time. Rather than being a homebody for yet another weekend, after running a few errands (wedding related yay!) we decided to debrief and catch up over brunch and we knew exactly where to go – Gusto 101.

Abby Does Toronto

This past weekend, I got to spend some quality time with my fur baby, Abby! Abby lives with my mom, about an hour and a half away, so it’s hard for me to see her since I moved to the city 4 years ago. Abby is quite literally, the sweetest golden girl you have ever met.

TIFF – The Producers Ball

Have you heard? TIFF is in town which means that Toronto turns into a bit of a circus for a week or so. King St. shuts down, actors and actresses flock to the City’s hotspots, and tourists follow in their wake clogging up the streets and walking super slow. On the bright side, TIFF parties are legendary, I mean, who doesn’t want to get glammed up and rub shoulders with the stars? Sign us up!

Glamping with Elements Luxury Tented Camp

Canadian girls don’t shy away from loading up the car with a tent and heading to a provincial park for a weekend of camping. Sleeping under the stars, all snuggled up in a tent is very refreshing, but there is a ton of work involved, especially if you’re the ‘organizer’ in your friend group. We used to go camping once or twice every summer but for the past few years trips abroad have taken precedence over camping – honestly, an all inclusive down south is less work and stress than camping. Lately I’ve become enamoured by the idea of ‘glamping’ (glamourous camping…or camping for brats) – sleeping under the stars in a beautiful canvas tent, with all the comfort of home! You can glamp all over the world (surf + yoga retreat in Portugal anyone?) but really I just like the idea of staying in Ontario – we do have the best camping in the world!
