The Fairmont Hotels takes high tea very seriously. Having already experienced the full Fairmont high tea experience at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier (check it out here!), when the lovely ladies at the Fairmont Royal York asked us to their Holiday High Tea, we were there with jingle bells on our feet! We spent the day braving the Christmas crowds trying to get some shopping done and then headed over to the Royal York to rest our tired feet and enjoy a well deserved spot of festive tea.

I have a low key obsession with interior design. I greedily devour any design magazine that I can get my hands on and half my insta feed these days is all about tablescapes, shelfies, and hygge. Although most of my obsession is purely virtual (living in a condo doesn’t exactly lend itself to DIYs and renos), I love a good wander around interior design stores. And nothing beats Restoration Hardware when it comes to dream decorating my perfect house, nothing. You can bet that as soon as a little bird told me about the new MASSIVE Restoration Hardware that opened up in Yorkdale complete with a CAFE, I rounded up the squad!
Have you heard? TIFF is in town which means that Toronto turns into a bit of a circus for a week or so. King St. shuts down, actors and actresses flock to the City’s hotspots, and tourists follow in their wake clogging up the streets and walking super slow. On the bright side, TIFF parties are legendary, I mean, who doesn’t want to get glammed up and rub shoulders with the stars? Sign us up!
On Thursday night people from all corners of the city flocked to secret meeting points. Some were holding tables and chairs, others had flowers in their hair and long party dresses on – but all were dressed from head to toe in white. Did you see them on your way home and wonder where all those fanciful folks were off to? Well, I’ll let you in on the secret: The very secretive, and very exclusive Diner En Blanc. Jessica and I raced from work, throwing on white outfits to join in on the fun.
Once in a while, on a sunny weekend morning, instead of my typical lie-in, I wake up as the sun rises with a spring in my step and I simply can’t laze about! On these (admittedly) rare mornings, I grab a cup of coffee, some cash and my bag and run out to the farmers market. The other day, with the hubby-to-be still fast asleep, I snuck out of the house armed with my camera to the farmers market at the Evergreen Brickworks.
Toronto is all about the #views. The best way to take in Toronto’s epic skyline is to get as high as possible. Jess and I have spent a lot of our summer ’17 on rooftops with a drink in our hands and we aren’t complaining – some of Toronto’s best bars aren’t on street level. With vibrant atmospheres and spectacular views going sky high is our new favourite way to while away our summer evenings. I thought I’d give you guys the low down on our fav rooftop bars in the city. We’ve scouted out places bring the AMBIENCE and the VIEWS – perfect for your next night out!
Pineapples are everywhere at the moment. Throw pillows, candles, prints on your wall. That’s right, you’re basically taking design inspo from your mom who’s obsessed with Tommy Bahama. Oh well, pineapples are cute AF. Especially when you’re wearing one! Jcrew has some cute pineapple t-shirts but I was feeling crafty and decided to try my hand at DIY-ing a pineapple “printed” t-shirt. I think it turned out pretty cute!
It’s officially wedding season! If you’re like me, you started planning out what to wear to all of the events you have on your calendar ages ago. Hair, makeup, nails, shoes, accessories needs to be on point. And that doesn’t even start to cover the most important bit (other than the bride and groom of course) – your outfit! When you’re spending up to $800(!!!) per wedding (seriously, they did a study), splurging on a new outfit for each wedding is RIDICULOUS. Ladies, how many dresses do you have hanging in your closet that you bought for a wedding and wore all of one time? I have 5…from LAST year alone. If you feel our pain, we’ve got good news! Jess and I want to share a magical place where you can shop a closet so full of designer labels Carrie Bradshaw cry tears of happiness and literally everything is in your price range. Studio Fitzroy – welcome to the future of fashion in Toronto – dress rentals.
Jessica and I are firm believers in finding a skin care routine that works for you and sticking with it. My number one secret for maintaining great skin is consistency with my skin care routine. We are constantly bombarded with the newest miracle product that will give you and everyone else gorgeous skin instantly. Don’t get me wrong, we love to try new products and are always always searching for the next holy grail – reading Sephora reviews for hours is a guilty pleasure of mine! But when I introduce a new product into my skin care routine, I’m SO SO careful. I always google the heck out of any new product I want to try to find as many reviews by honest bloggers I can. K-Beauty (or Korean Beauty) has been an open secret in the west for a while. K-Beauty companies are always on the cutting edge of the latest skin care science and technology. Sometimes the result can be a bit whacky for my Canadian tastes (snail goop!?), but hey, whatever works right?! Here are some of my favourite K-Beauty products currently on rotation in my skin care regime.
